Having lots of paper plates left over from my last toddler crafting session I needed an idea to use up the rest. I have seen in several places making bees and ladybirds from paper plates, so that is what we did.
The examples I made…….
I came across the idea of making a button snake on the Happy Hooligans website (http://happyhooligans.ca/button-snake/). So I made several for family and friends – one of which lives in my friend’s bag and is brought out when she needs a quiet 3 year old for a bit. The instructions used a felt square at the bottom to act as a stop – I made mine a bit more snake like by making a head (two pieces of felt oversewn together with a piece of ribbon for a tongue) and made a bag to keep it in.
I help out at a local Carer and Toddler group. We often do crafty things with them and I was ask to think of something. I used a well known search engine on the internet and first on the on the list of suggestions was this idea https://entertainingmonsters.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/rainbow-sunshine-toddler-craft/
So here is my example…….
and here some the children made.
